#AdjunctChat Topic May 13 ~ Does Technology Add To or Equalize the Adjunct’s Work? (with @JeffreyKeefer)

Does Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Add To or Equalize the Adjunct’s Work?

The chat will be facilitated by Jeffrey Keefer @JeffreyKeefer.

Many advocates of technology use in education, educational technology, or even technology enhanced learning, often claim that using these systems, apps, or programs helps us to better teach, facilitate, or enact learning. They connect teachers and students all while saving time and, ultimately, money.

But, is this really the case?

When adjuncts use or attempt to use technologies with their students, does it really help to connect and promote education in new ways while saving resources? Is it worth the efforts, given how many of them happen on the adjunct’s own (unpaid) time? This is the focus of the May 13 #AdjunctChat (4:00pm EDT).

These are the questions that are intended to guide the synchronous discussion:

Q1 Do you (attempt to) use technology with your students?

Q2 How do your students respond with it?

Q3 What successes have you found through using technology enhanced learning?

Q4 What challenges have you encountered?

Q5 Does using technology with your students add or save time or resources?

Q6 Is this all worth the effort?
