#AdjunctChat Topic June 24 ~ Considerations for a Global #AdjunctChat Day (with @jeffreykeefer)

Twitter_ChatThe topic for the #AdjunctChat on Tuesday, June 24 at 4:00pm EDT is:

Considerations for a Global #AdjunctChat Day

Some of you may recall a recent #AdjunctChat we had the explored the experiences of adjunct, part-time, contingent, precarious, faculty in higher education –
Global Experiences of Adjunct Faculty in Higher Education. A number of us who chatted that day have remained in touch and shared ideas for expanding this.

How about a day-long #AdjunctChat, making it easier for people in various timezones to participate?

Seems a good idea, though like many things worth doing it requires lots of discussion for shared terms, scheduling, logistics, topics, and the like.

With this as the backdrop, let’s spend today’s time together discussing some issues that may be related to a different style of #AdjunctChat. Here are a few potential starters that our facilitator @jeffreykeefer will use:

Q1: What are your thoughts about trying a day-long #AdjunctChat?

Q2: What would be some of the benefits of this form of #AdjunctChat?

Q3: What are some of the hurdles we may need to address? #AdjunctChat

Q4: What are some potential topics with a global reach? #AdjunctChat

Q5: What tag(s) can we use that may be global in scope? #AdjunctChat

All adjunct, contingent, part-time, visiting, and non-tenure track instructors, along with their allies, in higher education are welcome to #AdjunctChat on Tuesday, June 24, from 4:00-5:00pm EDT. Even if you do not readily fit into the above, #AdjunctChat is open to all! The more perspectives, the better we all learn with and from one another.

Want to facilitate an #AdjunctChat? You do not have to be an expert on the topic, but rather have an interest in something related to adjunct experiences with a desire to facilitate a live Twitter chat. More information about it may be found at How Can I Facilitate an #AdjunctChat?

Adjunct Anarchy: Generating Adjunct Communities

Look what an adjunct community came up with through casual sharing?! Q1: What are your adjunct support systems? #AdjunctChat

Q2: What did you learn from them last year? #AdjunctChat

Q3: How do these shift / expand / decline over the summer? #AdjunctChat

Q4: What will you take with you into the new year? #AdjunctChat
